How to Clean Coffee Maker

Coffee Maker cleaning is necessary in every 2-3 months to keep it brewing smoothly. First, remove and dispose of used coffee filter from the filter basket. Then add vinegar to water reservoir until one fourth is full. Fill the rest with water and run the coffee maker. Then turn of the coffee maker and let it cool for about ten minutes. Again repeat the same process and let cool for ten minutes. Now instead of vinegar and water run plain water through the coffee maker and let cool for ten minutes. Repeat the process. Wash the carafe and the filter basket with soap water. The carafe can be washed in dish washer also. If after rinsing twice with water, the odor of vinegar is still present in the coffee maker run more water through the coffee maker. Do the whole processes once in 2-3 months. The coffee maker will brew coffee smoothly.

The adhesive tag off doesn’t look good on plastic ware. Even after removing, it leaves a black mark, which is very dirty to look at. Most of the plastic wares are seen with some tags or level that looks very ugly. The adhesive tags off plastic ware don’t go with ordinary soap, as it is very hard to diminish the mark. The more important is that the glue remains stuck on the plastic. So to find out some easy procedure to remove the adhesive from the plastic ware is to soak it in hot water for some hours. This will loosen the adhesive and makes it easier to clean it properly. The process of soaking it in hot water minimizes the chance of scratching it with nails or some other apparatus. Scratching can cause mark whereas the treatment with hot water will leave the plastic ware a fresh unmark impression.

How to clean mineral deposits from a dishwasher

The dishwasher might get dirty from the mineral deposits coming from the water. Fill the detergent cup with two ounces of ascorbic acid. Run the empty machine on rinse for a few minutes. Then let it stand for a few minutes more and let the rinse cycle complete. Use heated drying. To remove mineral deposits, add a cup of vinegar to the load.
• To clean the dishwasher, use a small brush dipped in hot soapy water, go round the door of the dishwasher and take care to get into grooves and crevices of the rubber seal.
• Scrub well with a soft abrasive cleanser
• Using a household sponge dipped in hot soapy water, wipe off the dirt and grime. Take care to reach the corners.
• Pull the bottom rack out and examine the drain area. Wipe around to be sure that there is no hard chunks that can plug the drains, cause damage to the pump or scratch dishes.
• Using a clean wet sponge wipe the cleaning solution from the gasket and the door.
• Baking soda is also effective at freshening and brightening the dishwasher.

How to clean burnt on food from a stainless steel pot

It is very important to remove the burnt on food. In this technique different apparatus can be used like a knife, or a strong big spoon, etc. but it is advisable not to use the spoon or knife to the pot directly as because it can leave an ugly mark. A mixture can be tried to clean burnt on food from a stainless steel pot. The mixture includes water, white vinegar, and two drops of liquid soap. The solution when applied it is very important to see that the solution touches the bottom of the pot. Then the pot should place on low flame and stirring it continuously. If the burnt is loosened it can be filled by spoon only. The next step is to throw the solid substance away. If it still contains a lot of burnt, the above step should repeated. In case the burnt is less a simple steel wool would do. The soap solution should settle down and it should be scrubbed thoroughly.

Copper Pans

Copper pans are used for improve heat conductivity. One can buy commercial cleaners that will work on copper pans and bowls. Many people still like to use household items to clean copper cookware. One should never use scrubbers, steel wool or any other harsh method that scrape on copper coating. Always soak the pan immediately after cooking. Wash with a sponge or cloth rinse and let it dry. One can soak it overnight if necessary, rather than scrubbing the copper pan too harshly. For extra cleaning some other methods can be applied-
• Some salt or baking soda is poured on lemon halves and clean the pan with it.
• Dissolve one teaspoon salt in one cup of white vinegar and add enough flour to make a paste. Coat the pan with the paste and leave it for 15 minutes to 1 hour and then clean finally.
• Make a paste of lemon juice and salt and rub with the soft cloth, rinse with water and let it dry.
• Pour vinegar over the surface of the copper pan and sprinkle it with salt rub in the mixture to clean it gently.
• Make a paste of lemon juice and cream of tarter. Coat the pan with the paste and let set for 5 minutes. Finally wash with warm water.
• If copper is very dirty boil the item in the copper pan with one tablespoon salt and one cup of white vinegar for several hours. Then wash, rinse and dry it as usual.
